This Oil Filter DESTROYED My Engine Wix xp, Mobil1 or Fram ?

After I cut open these oil filters I was STUNNED! Proof wix xp oil filters & Mobil1 isn't the only oil filter you need to see cut open but also the fram toug...

napa platinum versus wix xp, are they different. Dudes refers to his filters as girls, lol. Notice the spring, but also how the wix xp is so short, no bypass. Notice pleats as well, not the same.

I like the open ended element doughnut design better than the closed end - one of the closed ended elements had glue particles captured in it - sucks into engine. The stiffer, taller bypass spring seems better as well. If we believe Fram's Marketer, the Fram Ultra XG filtration dual layer synthetic media is tops for efficiency and longevity.

Most of the other filters are shockingly shoddily constructed and poor materials. Wish he had a Royal Purple filter too, but we pretty much know what they look like inside anyway.

Just visual evidence why members are using Royal Purple or Fram Ultra.

"Some" why some guys run those. Apparently many members dislike the science, as in the other thread so many saying "wix xp" or die, lol. If it were me and I was running wix, I think I would at least appreciate the info, but goes to show you how strong marketing is, how strong loyalty is even if it isnt based on quality or science. Kinda of amazing? Social sciences are a trip.

Not at all amazing. Human brains are part prehistoric, part educated. The tribal part fights off the education part.

Also, don't know what the ratio is, but Rams also have Pentastar, EcoDiesel, and Cummins engines that ostensibly aren't hypersensitive to failure via deficient lubrication. I wouldn't be as concerned with those, though why not use the latest and greatest for them as well.

My voodoo doll is the Stellantis CEO, which I enjoy sticking multiple pins in every day...not sure if he's feeling anything on his end tho, but it makes me feel better anyway! (I think they call that "stickin it to the man"?)

Another youtuber cut open an amsoil filter and it was quite sloppy with glue. I think it was whipcitywrechers video

Stop attacking me. Lol just joking around ofcourse! Ive been a wix man since i started chaning my own oil so the reports about the xp are disheartening especially since ive got 4 on hand for my truck. I may try a fram titanium fs2 just because. Maybe an amsoil eao11 to

Pretty much knew Fram steel shell is thinner, but never bothered me much. Pressure relief nominal setting is also lower @ 12 psi vs. Amsoil 15 psi I've never had a Fram shell crack or burst.

Fram has +34% more media surface area than Amsoil.

I just had the dealership change my oil, I know I hate myself also. But they had an issue getting Mopar filters and used a Carquest filter.

Carquest along with dealership oil change, I sleep like a baby. People over think this stuff…

@Burla published an efficiency chart. Fram is slightly more efficient. It also shows Fram has more capacity.

For the 6.4 I really like the 20-500. You can see much needed clearance from the sides over the 20-820 thanks to hemimanns work. I don't have any opinion which is better on the 5.7, I just use the 20-820, and I'm comfortable with it.

I was just going off hemimann pics on side clearance and potential rubbing. May be a non issue, but kid of tight and I believe it is a hose as one of the objects, if memory serves me.

I’m going to take a look and see. There very well may be something close to it but just never noticed myself. I know I never had any problems installing it so now I’m curious if there is. I’ll post a pic of my filter once installed.

There is no gap on mine, even with the narrower RP 20-500 oil filter. Model Year 2017, built Jan. 2017. It looks like they custom fit every hose assembly? I can't believe their assembly tolerances vary by inches in this day and age of 3D CAD layouts. Then again, I had a CAD Designer stick an engine oil filter into a chassis frame once without noticing.

What transmission do you have? Do you have 4x4?
