But I recollect it was slant 6, which made it even funnier on big screen tv.

That was when Chrysler was Chrysler again, but Daimler-Benz left them with a huge debt, they went bankrupt in 2008-09 and Fiat scooped them up for pennies on the dollar.

Mostly downhill since.

I "borrowed" a few piccs of FRAM's new Endurance FE10575 oil filter. It is stated on the box that it has:

•Micro glass synthetic media with wire mesh media support.

•Heavy duty construction for maximum durability

•High flow high strength centertube

•Silicone anti drain back valve

•Perfect Seal™ No Stick Gasket

•25,000 mile protection

... nothing about the bypass valve other than it looks the same as the Royal Purple ...

The FRAM FE10575 does resemble a Royal Purple 20-500 and states it has @99% efficiency/? microns. It's dimensions are (L×W×H):
2.99×2.99×4.45 inches.


The FRAM Endurance could be just the right alternative oil filter for the "Drama Queen HEMI".

I couldn't find the equivalent to the factory spect oil filter or the RP 20-820. Maybe it isn't being made at the present or ?

If memory serves, without digging it back up, the Project Farm oil filter tests used fine flour as uniform, small contaminant, with Fram Ultra & Royal Purple testing tops in contaminant filtering efficiency & capacity, with Fram having most capacity.

BUT - I don't remember seeing flow restriction measurement. This test is shocking to see how restrictive Fram Ultra is! I submit this is not good for the oil-starved valve lifters of the Hemi, esp. during the very slow rpm of factory set idle speed.

Doesn't Champion make Mobil 1, as well as Royal Purple? Think we should take Fram Ultra off the Hemi recommended oil filter list?

Just found out Mann + Hummel makes Mobil 1 oil filters.

Hemi uses M113A, upsize is M212A

I dunno, I think the video speaks for itself and someone can chose off of that. All I can say from day one is that thick loose media on RP seams desirable to me. Corey has a link that may flip this thread on it's ***. 3,2,1... hello corey, lol. @Hemi395

I've been using K&N for quite awhile because of it's high ranking and the 1" hex nut on the end makes it real easy to remove just in case you get a stubborn one.

But Mobil 1 oil filter is not loose, thick media. Its blend, not wound fiberglass. They didn't test Royal Purple, but Project Farm did..

So my question is how.can flow restriction differ this much between Fram Ultra and Mobil 1? Makes no sense to me.

Also, their K&N data makes no sense. We all know K&N makes coarse, rock-catcher filters targeted to racing applications, where engine speed and load is constant, contaminants are low, and application hours short.

So how could data show low flow restriction and low contaminant capacity, but high filtration efficiency? Contradicting data.

This again? The same 'expert' claiming Hemi got no lifter bore oil despite the oil galley to the lifter bores being clearly visible? This Uncle Tony who's been soundly discredited?

Now he's telling people pressure in an oil canister relief valve is absolute, not differential across the spring?

We need to run a RP filter with no bypass and see if you get vacuum on it or not. Should be done in summer to be fair.

If a hemi oil system is 55psi, wouldnt it make sense most of the time it is in bypass, if the bypass is the usual 20psi or close?

I've been using K&N for quite awhile because of it's high ranking and the 1" hex nut on the end makes it real easy to remove just in case you get a stubborn one.

The white bodied K&N filters with the Hex nut on top are nothing like the ones in the video just mentioned. Those by design sacrifice filter efficiency for flow rates.

I think it matters where the oil pressure is being read. I think at the filter at least the way I understand it is low pressure vs the outlet of the pump. I don't think it is always in bypass.

You win!

The pressure relief valve setting is differential pressure across the element - not a static pressure only on the pump side. This is a hydraulic open-loop flow system - not a hydrostatic jack.

Uncle Tony is a real gem.

Anyway, yeah Burla I'm just using deductive reasoning on the Royal Purple oil filter. I'm greatly confused why the Mobil 1 oil filter has 20% less flow restriction than Fram Ultra, yet they filter the same efficiency. The only explanation I have is more pleats for Mobil 1 (more media surface area), since neither media is wound glass.
