I agree that, scientifically, we're both flying blind. I further agree that one day we'll probably have more answers. Perhaps we can both agree to good, reliable motoring.You say no hard data, what hard data do you have that filters similar to when it is like new? I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, because once it is your equipment nobody cares what you do to it except you. Someday we will have this info I am convinced, and when we have it, my guess micron ratings on older used paper filters will be worst then any rock catchers we see. Just looking at the microscope of the media and knowing it also has binders that fail with time, heat cycles, and oil acid, I wouldn't be surprised if micron ratings are gone after as short as 1500 miles. Hard data I have none, either way, no data proving that strategy is sound either.
