Yep….lots of oil opinions. But that offers more options if there is an issue. It seems like each Hemi engine has a mind of its own. Ha
OH yeah, each one is a separate beast.

FWIW, my HEMI'S current oil psi at 70 mph is 52-54 and hot idle is 48-49. Cold start up is ~ 55 and closer to 60 if the outside temps are around 45-60 degrees on Red Line 5w/30 and a Royal Purple 20-820 oil filter.

The previous oil change was also Red Line 5w/30 but I was using a Purolator Boss 24651and the oil psi was identical to the current oil strategy.

Prior to that I was using Pennzoil 5w/30 and a PB 24651 and my HEMI'S oil psi was ~ 5 psi less at hot idle/highway speeds. My oil change intervals have always been at 3000 miles. I could go much longer, but I'm retired now and put around 3000 miles a year on my HEMI, so I'm basically at about one oil change a year.

Yeh, each HEMI is different. My brothers 2012 HEMI psi's are different from mine and he doesn't use the same oil strategy as I do.

So, I hope this helps you some, OP.

Thanks, folks, for all of the good replies. So far, I have started it about 15-18 times, both cold and warm starts. No one lifter tick heard “yet”. I also change around 3-3,500 miles and I’ll continue with the Royal Purple and wix filter until it starts ticking again. Then, I’ll try something different.

I’ve thought about trying a conventional or synthetic blend, as they tend to be a bit thicker. I do like the full synthetic oils, especially in the winter months. We’ll see.

My warm idle is a tad lower than yours, but other than that mine is identical.
