First time poster, hope you all can help me. I am also new to diesel engines as this is my first one.

When the weather is cold outside my oil pressure gauge randomly drops to zero and then comes right back up to normal. It will do this every few minutes or more until the engine is warmed up then it quits doing it and is normal. It makes no difference whether I am driving or sitting still. When I first start it the gauge comes up fine.

I feel no difference in the performance or the way it runs when it does this. The light comes on in my dash that the chime that says check gauges and then it drops and comes back up. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

2007 Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins, can't seem to find anyone with the exact same problem in the forums.
