OP, if you change your mind and decide to buy new, the AC Delco reman... at RockAuto, right in the middle of the price range would probably be a fairly safe bet...

I did order a new Pure Energy unit already.

I still want to take a shot at reviving the original one, though. I might never need it, but you never know.

I went ahead and ordered one of the Pure Energy starters from RockAuto. It was $104 shipped.

My local parts stores were all in the $200 neighborhood. Screw that. Just have to wait a couple days.
Beating on the starter, is that a RAM or a CHEVY? roflmao. Next you be talking about jumping the posts with an insulated screwdriver. OH the memories.
