So I got the u joints put in the drive shaft as the other ones were complete ****. That solved the grinding and vibrating. I still have the whine when I am slowing down from somewhere in the diff I believe.
It just seems like everything is hitting the fan all at once. Heres a list of everything wrong:

Bad/soft brakes
Whine from the rear diff
Blower motor
Plenum gasket

And more recently when I was on my way home from my cousins shop I was going right at 65 heading for a stop light. There was a very small incline and so I pressed the gas and I wasnt getting a good response at all. Then I heard something clank or tick and then my check engine light started flashing...

I mean ********. I cant catch a break.

The whine is caused from improper set up, pinion depth I believe but it may also be a backlash error. As for the other things man it happens and it normally happens all at once. The plenum was a given and you know it's not that hard just to replace the gasket even if you don't fix it permanently. And have you pulled the resistor block on the blower motor yet to verify that it's good?

No I havent. The plenum is gonne get fixed eventually. Not by me. Probably by firestone maybe. And my brakes are gonna get done by calverts. But Im mainly now concerned for the check engine light flashing.

It may be a miss caused by the excessive oil burning of the plenum. Check your spark plugs make sure they're clean and gapped right. Has it happened since?

Do the key dance and see what codes you get, that should narrow it down.

Yeah I know its just frustrating that they all happen at once lol The plenum and brakes will be first on the list. Hopefully the shop I am going to call tomorrow wont charge me and arm and a leg for the plenum repair. And hopefully the engine will be a lot more responsive.

If it wasn't for the fact that I put so few miles on my truck in the first three years I've owned it, I'd have had all my **** come down on me at once too. These trucks are OLD. The newest is 13 years old now.

Hell, mine is 17 years old, going to be 18 next year.

Think about that, my truck, if it were human female, would be legal to BANG next year. Yours will be 16!! Still ********.

**** is old, it breaks, not something to be discouraged about. Just one thing at a time and keep your head about you.

Yeah thats where im at right now. Did the rear diff. All good there. Just did the u joints in the axle which got rid of the grinding and vibrating completely as my old ones were absolute ass lol

Next we need to figure out what is making the humming noise when im slowing down. Thinking its the pinion not be quite seated all the way or something to that extent.

Brakes are spongy so gonna take it by calverts since I got I got a 60 buck coupon for all new shoes, inspection, and inluding labor and driving test. So why the **** not lol

I can live with the blower motor. And I still need to put my rear shocks on (5100's) but thats easy. Mainly just waiting for the weather to warm up.

But I REALLY need the plenum issue fixed cause were taking a guys trout fishing trip to colorado the upcoming summer and thats about a 9 hour drive so I need everything in working order.

Oh, about the plenum, my check engine light was flashing tonight. Is that because the plenum is causing spark issues?

Check engine coulda come on in and out because the O2 is sensing some ******** excess oil/u burned fuel passing by it. If fix the plenum and it still is on or comes on change out the O2 and cat unless u don't care about the light then gut the cat. The bad plenum wi clogg the cat with oil and **** and cause lack of power and stuff so if you do the plenum and still acts up see what codes you have and if it's just the O2 I would say leave it unless you have lack of power

Yeah today driving to work I notice when I pretty much hit 50 a can feel a little slow down/ lack of power. Im just worried that a shop would charge me out the ass to do it. I just don't have the time with school and work right now.
