Yeah I’d say something went wrong…

What do you guys think of this? I’m not too crazy about it but it isn’t the ugliest EV out there. When I clicked on the chat bubble icon to reply on the Reddit post it said “oops something went wrong,” and I couldn’t help but laugh at the irony.

That's the new Charger, not Challenger. Your title is wrong.

For a performance EV it's also slow as molassis ,compared to any other performance EV.The 1/4 mile times they're claiming for it's 670 hp are dismal at best.670 hp and only a mid 11 sec time, isn't nothing to write home about

Rumor has it (rumor has two things actually) that they have been testing an e-torque 5.7 in it and that there is a DOHC VVT V8 in the works. I cannot personally testify to the validity of said rumors.

Maybe just having a rough day, but a 'test pilot' referred to it as a junk but wouldn't extrapolate.

I like the external aesthetics, I wish the gas version had the wing-hood thing up front that the EV does.

Dodge has been tight lipped AF about the police package version, other than it's delayed and they showed a prototype to some folks at LAPD and Detroit PD. I wouldn't be shocked if a 5.7L made it into a 4 door fleet version, but nobody will tell us what the options are going to be. I think a lot of departments will abandon Dodge entirely if they don't offer a low cost version made to run on regular octane fuel. The Durango got a black eye over the Indiana State Police deal, Dodge needs a win soon.

My local dealer has a few listed on their website. I'm assuming those are build slots for upcoming inventory. $70k starting price. How many of these does FCA think they will sell?

It is my understanding that a Hurricane powered "Six Pack" version is coming, without all the electric garbage. We probably won't see it until next year, as the high profit EVs will get production priority first.

You know what they say: the first year of production of a new model comes with a tone of incommodities that plague its arrival to the market. Take the Cybertruck, for instance, with all the recalls and the time owners spent in service shops trying to fix pillar trims that came off, tonneau covers that did not close properly, load beds that leaked, and so on.

It seems that the all-new Dodge Charger Daytona is not going to be spared all the trouble that the first-production year models come with. The EVs have started arriving in dealerships. TK of TK's Garage quotes insiders when saying that they are bricking. The car rebuild expert claims he got information from dealers that told him the Charger Daytona is becoming an unmitigated disaster.

He was informed by four dealership employees from four different areas of the country that they had received the Charger Daytonas, and that they were dead the following day. He also got photos of the models on the lift. Some of the brand-new models supposedly require a battery replacement. The operation will be carried out under warranty.

TK was told that three other cars from three other dealerships had the exact same problems. "5 miles. After placing [them] into ship mode, they're having issues, perform 4 critical flashes," read one of the messages that TK received.

The dealers can't sell or deliver the cars if they can't get them to move, so for the moment. They are currently just showroom exhibits. A customer with whom TK has been keeping in touch couldn't wait to get delivery of his brand-new Dodge Charger Daytona. He was supposed to go pick up his EV when the dealer called him and told him he wouldn't be getting his car that day.

Earlier this month, another YouTuber expressed skepticism at the model's reliability and compassion for the customers and called the deliveries "a fiasco." He photographed "thousands" of them sitting in a parking lot, waiting to get updates that are supposed to make them functional.

Furthermore, one of the cars used for the media event, which took place at the Radford Racing School last month, reportedly sustained an electronic malfunction during the test drive. However, such things do happen during media events, especially when automakers sometimes use pre-production models.

At first, Dodge reportedly thought that it was a software-related issue, which delayed the arrival of the EVs in dealerships. TK anticipates that Dodge is going to get a metaphorical "black eye." For the moment, the automaker is advertising the Charger Daytona as the world's most powerful muscle car.

I6 is definitely coming and is the gas version I mentioned as not having that cool wing-hood thing at the front end.

Hurricane may not be what many departments want, though, with the cost of purchase, fuel, and maintenance being big questions.

I heard those things can't even do a burnout. With that much power, that's pathetic.
They're AWD and probably weigh three tons, which explains the dismal performance despite the "600hp" rating. A Ram 1500 might actually be lighter.

Yeah, maybe once the software updates come they will be able to do burnouts and such. That's what happened with the cyber truck.
my oldest sons tesla model s plaid won't do a burnout in insane mode, but it will do 0-60 in 3 seconds.and let me tell you, that is crazy fast.

Ma Mopar's biggest selling point has been how well their cars do on the racetrack ,win on Sunday / sell on Monday has been their motto since the 50's,and it's still a viable motto to this day. They won't have that motto to fall back on anymore,as most race tracks don't allow electric vehicles to race anymore. That might change down the road, but for now it's a fact of life, and if this is their fastest car, they won't have that decades old motto to use to their advantage,as their electric Charger is at the bottom of the totem pole in regards to winning any electric vehicle race
