Just ordered a Billet Technology catch can from Moe's to go with the Jet 180 thermostat I have at home. I've been told these two are pretty much must-haves with a Trinity and hemifever tuning. Anything else you guys consider "must have" with one? Other than a CAI...I'll be getting probably a Vararam at some point, but I wanted the Trinity first. I also already have a plan for my exhaust.

And I don't mean just performance stuff, but overall good mechanic stuff (i.e. the catch can).

Those are in the plan, too...but further away. My plan right now is get the tuner and do some stock runs, then add the Jet 180 and catch can, then exhaust, then the Vararam or S&B, then an 87mm tb, and headers further down the road. I have to go in small steps. lol I'm not really planning on a cam swap ever, but that might change...who knows. With that plan, you guys think I'd be ok with the 87mm or should I stick with 85mm?

I think if headers are a possibility then go with the 87mm.

Gears and/or a TC really wake these trucks up!

I was also going to say throw a tq converter into the mix. All the power mods are fun, but getting a better built converter to help put that added power to the ground is a must IMO.

I see quite a few of you guys with the 180 thermastat. Whats the advantage over the stock? What is the stock 210 or so?

Stock is 205*. A 180 stat is going to make the motor run cooler and will also help prevent detonation when you are running advanced timing on the more aggressive tunes. It is a must have mod for us guys in the south.

Forgot about a TC. lol I'd probably want to do after the TB and before the headers I think.

I've got factory 3.92s and from what I've heard/read without major modifications (read money), the biggest I can go in the front is 4.10s. Is this correct...or is it the case with any gear swap in these trucks? What is it about the front that creates the problem? I have a 2012 4x4.

2012's 3.92's is the highest gear you can get for 4wd without having the carriers machined to accept aftermarket gears

I'll buy you some headers if you will trade me gears / differentials...........I know you REALLY want these 3.55s

Sorry man, didn't realize you had 3:92's. IMO, it wouldn't be worth your while to upgrade to 4:10's anyway, even if you could (only the RT's). But yeah, it's a major PITA, especially for you being a '12. From my understanding you'd have to change the front diff. altogther to a pre '12 and then still have the rear carrier modified. I have the 3:55's, so figure I may as well go big with the 4:56's. One day...one day...

But even with my ****** 3:55's, I was still amazed with the difference the TC (and then the tune) made. No more lag off the line! And I'm running 35's too.

In the near future, a tuner will do, but all other mods as others indicated are great mods down the line.

Yeah, I'm so glad I stuck with the 3.92s when I bought this one. It took a little bit to find one that had them and other stuff I wanted.

If only my wallet was as big as the plans I have for the truck... lol

lol I searched practically every truck on the lot to find one with "chrome" 20s, EVIC, and 3.92s. I never looked at this truck because I didn't like the color the first time I saw it. The next day the salesman told me this was the only one he had with the stuff I wanted. In the sunlight I actually liked the color.

^ We had to wait a couple days for the dealer to bring a truck in from out of town despite the 2 lots of trucks he had available. Having done all this reading on usefulness of the EVIC and $ to upgrade from 3.55s, I'm SO glad we did.
