Quick question. In the 2500 (2015) models, is there any functional differences between the outdoorsman and an equally optioned SLT? They are trying to sell me on beefier suspension, but both carry the same 10000lbs GVWR so something isn't adding up.

Don't they have a slight lift in the front? And you can get different paint options(two tone). As far as capabilitys I don't think there is any difference.

Looks like it's mostly cosmetic.

Don't they have any of the big brochures with all the little dots still? Those usually did a pretty good job of breaking out most of the important features/differences in trim level.

Not this one. It has the differences but not in an easy to compare graph made even more difficult by a salesman that won't shut up and let me study it :/

We took off for a while. He was getting anxious and pushy. That never ends well. Time for a cool down period.

A beefier suspension??? LOL!
Exactly my reaction when he told me about the "improved spring capacity" and the "offroad tuned shocks".

We are going to come back later and get a different salesperson. I asked him what the payload rating was on one and he said "10,000lbs. All the 2500s are the same unless you option 9900lbs payload."

Um. What?

Wow that's bad I wish dealerahips wouldn't allow salesmen like this.... If your selling new vehicles you should know atleast 85% of everything about every new car on that lot.

i can't speak for the 2500 but in the 1500 the major difference was really just that it came stock with quite a few options like 3.92 axles, skid plates, oil/transmission cooler and tougher coil springs. think there was a few other small things too but can't remember now

I read somewhere that the 2500 outdoorsmans come with 4.10's instead of 3.73's but that may be wrong.

My 2014 Outdoorsman is very similar to an SLT. The differences are just cosmetic as far as I can remember. Less chrome - more body color, like mirrors and trim around the grill. Also, the Outdoorsman comes with big tow hooks up front. All the main things like payload and suspension should be exactly the same. And mine has the 3.73 gears. 4.10s seem pretty rare.... at least in my area.

I know, I read somewhere where the outdoorsman did as well.
I read an article late 2013 talking about testing the 2014 "power wagon" and the pictures clearly showed a two tone outdoorsman model...

You can option either 3.73 or 4.10s according to the build and price tool but i do think they sit slightly higher like the 1500 version. My slt has tow hooks but i think theyre just standard on the outdoorsman.

Id love to have the color match grille and flares on my truck i think it looks great but as far as i know thats the only thing different from my slt
