Hey yall,

New to the form and having some issues with my truck. Got a P0740 Code and my truck is acting sluggish and won’t shift into 6th unless I let my foot off the accelerator and then re apply the pedal. Haven’t noticed overheating but my MPG has dropped significantly. Just hit 220,000 miles so wondering if I need to save up and replace the transmission or if there is a better fix? Also wondering if it’s safe to drive the truck as it’s my daily driver currently until i’m able to get the transmission fixed? Local transmission shop said to replace the tranny but i’m pretty sure they just wanted my cash. Any and all help is appreciated!

Hey, I have the same issue. What I did was replace my overdrive clutch. If you haven't changed your valve body, I recommend you do it. I didn't do it the first time, and now it's doing it again. The only thing I need to know now is how to have my truck relearn the transmission. I've been searching around, but I can't find it. I even asked the forum, but no one has provided me with the answer. So, hopefully, someone can answer me. I'll be sure to let you know.
