Anyone else havin probs with this?? Only got 4k on my '13 and already chips through the paint down to the metal from rocks behind the front and rear wheels. I'm not gonna have paint by the time the warranty is out. I rarely drive down gravel roads and it also seems like there's no rock guard like most vehicles have painted into the lower rocker panels.

I was a detailer for years, many manufacturers use a dupont film in these areas. my wife's car has it and my last chevy did too. It is a shame Dodge doesn't use it, but you can get strips and put them on yourself. I've used it before, the only thing you should concentrate is on the application, because once attached it is a PITA to remove. It is clear, and is usually applied to the areas you just mentioned. Nothing you can do about rock chips, they ding all cars trust me.

Now that I think about it, it is 3m film.

Just read that. WOW. Unreal. Less than 2 months old and been on 2 gravel roads for less than a couple miles. Fairly disappointed in the quality of the exterior in general this time around. Seems that anytime I even brush up against the truck it leaves a permanent mark.

You could always get color matched rock guard put on it, not sure on how pricey that would be though

Per side the 3M rock guard tape is $80 my cost (wholesale). Fairly pricey fer clear tape. Guess I don't understand what Dodge was thinking. From observations they are the only truck makers out there not putting some kinda protection against this.

If you go to a professional and have the 3M applied to the front, around the grill and the front of the hood, the rocker panels and maybe the back of the outside rear view mirrors you are looking at between $500 and $1000. Check with your local body shop and see what it costs to prep and repaint those areas. A good coat of sealant and wax may help a little bit---but not much.

IMHO--That's what happens when bean counters dictate what goes into and on a truck. Save a dollar here and a dollar there---etc etc etc
