Paint crack....

So went to pop my hood last night in the garage and when I put my hand under the hood to unlatch it I see this. Very irritating to say the least.

damn, wonder if that's something warranty would cover....

That looks like a tool was left there before closing, or the stoppers being too low and dropping the hood to hard.

Not saying you did that. But thats my guess.

Yeah I'm honestly not sure. Talking with an autobody guy a bit ago he said it could have been someone shutting the hood to hard?

maybe so many hard closes because of the Vararam? ive worried about that with mine because I have to shut the hood a lot harder now with the vararam.

Yeah maybe. You do have to close it harder. Good point. I just washed the truck yesterday so might be why I didn't notice it until last night.
I was texting with Cameron at Valley Autobody and he was gonna get back to me on a price and what he thinks he might be able to do.

$400 +/- $50 would be my guess. Hopefully not though.

Doubt warranty would cover that, if we can guess what happened over a picture, a body shop will call it on spot.

Yeah I told our warranty guy that if someone said that to us I'd tell them no it's from personal use. Only thing I could potentially claim is poor paint bonding but you can feel a bit of a dent on each side of the paint cut so obviously the paint was fine until the dent. I'm gonna have to eat the cost.

The things we do for our trucks haha.

I would like to know if it's from shutting the hood to hard so I or whoever doesn't repeat this.

I would start at the bump stops, when you unlatch a hood, it should pop up.. But if theyre too tight.. The it takes way too much force to close it, causing the same issue in a different spot.
