So I am working on deal on a set of perfect nerf bars off a 2011 Longhorn. The thing is they all come painted gold. So...what should I do with them? I can't put them on gold, not trying to make my truck look like Iron Man. :)

I'm getting them because I have a 2 year old who likes to climb in the truck by herself, and a very pregnant wife with baby #2! :peace:

So should I Plasti Dip them, or paint them to match? I was even thinking of going silver for an aluminum look. Thoughts?

Thanks for the votes, I think what I am going to do it Plasti Dip them first, see how they look. If they look dumb, then I'll just peel off the Plasti Dip and take them to the painter! From there, unsure on whether I'll do silver or red....hmmmm.

Plasti-dip! I did mine and they have held up well. And if you don't like it, you can just peel it off.

I vote plasti dip, or even better, linex. Not sure, but i bet painting them wouldn't hold up too good and they would get tons of rock chips

I think Painted to match would look freaking amazing, but they would probably get all nicked up... still that would be so cool.

Why? It's a 2WD and unless he drives through a lot of gravel they won't get any more dinged up than the rocker panels. I say color match would look awesome.

Good catch, I assumed with the need for nerf steps it was a 4x4.

I like what I've heard about plasti-dip that you can try it and then peel it off if you don't like the color.
