Does anyone know the best way to paint the solid al wheels without having them powder coated? What type of paint should you use? And will it stay?

What color? Black? Just use Plati-dip. Spray right one and peel off the over spray.. best thing is, if you dont like it you can peel it all off again.

youtube "dupli color". I have no idea if it will stay or what the real outcome is. But I found some nice videos of application and they assure it will last. With dupli color apparently you can apply some shiny finish, and I understand plasti dip, although durable and reversible, is a flat finish. When the time is right I think I will try it, unless I run up to San Antonio or Houston and powder coat them while im there :)

Do you know if it will work on crome as well and would i have to prep the chrome in anyway other than just cleaning it?

I had some old chrome rims that I had to sand down with 180 grit sand paper for about 2 hours then used some high heat primer and then duplicolor high heat paint. I had no issues, paint held up well. Just make sure you spray many light coats. Once you over spray and it drips its a ***** to correct unless you decide to stand it down and start over.
