Hello, I'm ne here so hope I'm doing this correctly. I have a 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 and I recently removed the harness from the PCM to try and find a short. Now that I have it reconnected the truck won't start just continuesly cranks. Yes I forgot to disconnect the battery and I'm hoping I didn't cook something. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You don't need to disconnect the battery to disconnect the pcm. the continuous cranking shouldn't have anything to do with it per se.

Ok I have to work today I will check to make sure it's seated properly tonight. I should also mention it's throwing all kinds of codes now, I was very careful when opening harness so I'm positive I didn't nick or yank wires loose. This all started trying to trace a miss on cylinder 8 which I think is due to the pcm not throwing correct voltage to injector 8, I was trying to get a voltage reading as close to pcm as possible. ‍♂️

Well I got home and took off harness to pcm, reattached and made sure connections were secure, again no luck. I noticed a couple of the pins had a slight brown color to them like they cooked, I'm guessing I fried the pcm. Any recommendations on a place to order a new one or any other suggestions? I'm going to try a reset just for giggles but look like I'll be driving the new ram to work for the next week. Uggh I'm trying to keep that one clean and low miles

Yes I'm just a little worried because I've seen some bad reviews for the refurbished companies. I think I'm gonna go through ebay so I have a chance of recovering my money if they don't deliver. Also I'm just nervous that it's not the pcm and I fried some other stuff I'm not sure of. This is my first time tackling electrical issues with my truck. I've now owned a total of 4 rams and 3 of them have had mechanical issues before 160k, 2 of them tranny and this one cam lifter issue and I just bought a 4th lol I think I'm a gluten for punishment.

Don't over think it. If you have cooked pins on the PCM you'll probably need both the PCM and engine harness. If the PCM is cooked chances are that connector is too.

I want to put the same Sylvania led light but right one of course in my 3rd brake light. Will it hyper flash or show as out on my dash? I looked couldn't fine anything. Thank you[emoji41]

Well here's where I'm at. Got the new pcm today and installed, now nothing. Radio turns on, lights work but won't crank and has a small blinking red light on bottom of console. I had battery on trickle charger in garage whole time I was waiting on pcm so I'm pretty sure battery is good. Any suggestions?
