So I have officially stumped the dealer, the KMC Wheel Techs and my local tire shop.

I put 20x9 XD Misfits w/a 0 offset wrapped in 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers on the truck mid January. Some of you helped me with some ideas for this problem back in Jan but its still a problem.

Mounted the package up to the truck and hit the road. Everything was good up until about 45MPH, after that I got a nice shimmy in my steering wheel. To the point that I didn't feel I had control over the truck at highway speeds. Not death wobble but just a decent shimmy. I had the wheels and tires rebalanced because the place i got them from only static balanced them. That helped a touch. Then I got hub rings. That did not make any difference. I pulled out my leveling kit, and put in 5100's and had truck aligned. That didn't help. I've rotated tires to see if maybe one wheel up front was messed up from the factory. No luck. Now what? Ball joints? Maybe 1500 ball joints can't handle the heavy wheels/tires. Put in 2500 ball joints? Steering Rack? Didn't have the shimmy with stock wheels and tires. Also, the truck, even before the wheel and tire package pulled left. I have had it aligned twice at two different places (dealer and Cassidy Tire) and it still pulls left.

Also, since wheels went on, 4 wheels drive at low speed has a vibration.

I have no idea what to do at this point but over 55mph the truck rides like ****. Any thought or ideas would be appreciated. Truck looks badass though :)

Who did you buy the wheels and tires from? See if they would be willing to swap for new ones.

It's also a possibility that your truck just has a bad front end from the factory and the your wheels and tires magnify the problem

I called SDWheelCorp and they are going to look into it.

It pulled left with stock wheels too, but it didn't always do it. One day it just started pulling.

Dont know if they do this anymore, but my Dad used to have his tires trued, they check to make sure they are all the same exact diameter, if not they cut them down to the same diameter. Maybe far fetched, but it maybe worth a try.

What about road force balancing?

Its an option. I'm sick of paying for "possible" fixes. I called SDWheels and told them they need to figure it out. So we will see what they come back with.

I hope they take care of you.
It does sound like a problem with the wheels. It's not out of the ordinary to get a slight warp on one.

I thought that at first but I have rotated them. Still have shimmy in steering wheel.

I mount and balance tire every day I would say it is the rims but I dont no with out them being on the balancer. See how much weights is on the wheels. put the one with the most weight on the right rear and the one with the less weight on the Left front. But the ture test would be road force balance.

Have you tried going back to the original tires/wheels, if so does the problem still exist?

Yep, This is a must check scenario! Sorry bought the probs, also in order to validate the claim that one or all new rims are bad (after the stock wheel test and I realize is a hassle) maybe borrow someone elses 35 set-up and go for a road run (Local or near RF memebr).

Sounds like tires out of round or bent rim road force and you will know.

I had the exact same issue after installing my toyo MT's and it drove me insane. After ripping my Bilsteins out, back to factory, 4" RCX lift installed ....still shook! Had road force balancing done 2x $100 a shot, I almost gave up. I then rotated the tires one by one. Front to back, side to side til I figured which it was. Called Toyo and told them my tire dealer said all the tires and rims were fine but I was convinced I had an out of round tire. Toyo said any of their retailers are authorized to replace 3 of 4 tires to achieve a smooth ride. Tire dealer still wouldn't work with me so Toyo delivered a tire to my door and paid to have it mounted balanced! They even sent a return label for the out of round tire. Smooth sailing after that. Call Nitto and see what they can do, if you can pin point it's the tires.

There are rotor retaining clips from the factory. Do you know if those were removed? The factory wheels have reliefs for them. Might take a look at that

Have you tried rotating the tires to see it the problem is still there? I think the vibration would be much smaller if you put the problem wheel on the back.

I not 100% sure if they were removed or not. I do not recall seeing them when I pulled the wheels to put the hub rings in, but I really wasn't looking for them either. Something to look into. You would think the two tire shops I have been to and the dealer would notice that.

I had the dealer rotate them when I had them look it all over.

I believe the problem is fixed. I will know for sure on my 600 mile round trip journey to Michigan tomorrow.

Pulled a wheel off last night and wouldn't ya know it the retaining clips were still on the studs. Two on each side up front and one on the rears. Pulled them off and so far no shimmy. Highway speeds tomorrow to know for sure.

Two tire shops and the dealer missed them. That is why I love this forum. Thank you all for your help.
