The taped over parts of the grill i am doing black as well but heres a pic of what i got so far. Sorry for quality kinda dark out. I also did all the emblems black all the way around the truck. Plan to post more pics once finished.

That's a great look! Much better than stock in my opinion.
How about a whole truck shot so we get the full effect!

I'm working on mine now, in black though..my first try with Plasti dip. Got about one more coat to go then I'm pulling off the masking tape. Fingers crossed. I may need to pick up a can of the glossifier. That white looks sharp.

Thanks guys, rackumrack i say go for it. Plasti Dip is very forgiving so even if you mess up or don't like it just wait for it to try and peel it off. If you have any overspray Goof Off cleans it right up. I also encountered some bubbling in a few areas and i visited dipyourcar.com to order the repair kit which is essentially some kind of thinner they formulated just for Plasti-Dip. Problem is i live in Alaska and they won't ship chemicals over the Canadian border. So after some more research i found that Xylene which is a thinner you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes can be used. So if you wanna buy that stuff use the same technique used in this video

How to Fix PlastiDip (Texture, Tears, Troubleshooting) DipYourCar.com - YouTube

Apply that way, wait for it to dry. and reapply plasti dip. I used it in a couple of areas and can't even noticed where i messed up or had bubbles and saves you from having to peel the whole thing up and start over. Not saying your going to run into bubbling or anything like that, I did more than likely because of moisture trapped somewhere or i didnt clean it good enough to begin with. But if you decide to try it out this all should help you fix it back up.

Right now i'm finishing my Ram 1500 emblems and the emblems in the back. Alot of vidoes youll find online show the person taping the area off and painting with them still on the truck. I started doing this and didn't like dealing with the overspray or any spots i may have missed. So i purchased a heat gun from Lowes for like 20 bucks, heated up the factory adhesive, used some fishing line to get behind the emblems and pull em up. Once they were off i cleaned them up real good and sprayed them in a more open area where i could make sure i covered them better and not get a bunch of spray on my truck, Just cause it cleans up easy doesn't mean it doesn't get annoying after a while. Once they finish drying i'll reapply them with some fresh adhesive.

I will admit that i was lazy with the grill and went all white with it cause i didnt feel like taking it out, now that i've see how it looks this way i'm actually going to take my grill out and do it the way i had originally wanted before i got lazy.

This is my first time ever attempting something like this on a vehicle of mine and i was nervous at first but once you realize how forgiving this product is you get over any fear of putting in on your truck

My learning experiences were

a.) Make sure you clean the area really good
b.) Make sure there isn't any moisture on the surface your covering
c.) Be patient
d.) If you unsure do some research, I watched alot of videos and did alot of reading on how others went about it before i even started on mine
e.) Don't be surprised if you may **** it up the first time and end up having to peel it and start over

Here pretty soon i'm gonna change my brake pads and i was thinkin about painting my calipers red and see how that looks

Pulled my grill out and took the inserts out. Decided to not be lazy. Inserts will be black. Ive heard doing the cross hairs black but leaving the outside white looks good to. Any opinions?

I think it'll look good on some trucks. Yours it would probably look great. Mine though with the grey, not so much. It would blend in too much I think.

All done. Had alot of issues with plasti dip bubbling. So i bought sandpaper, primer, white auto paint and a clearcoat. Chrome pic is the day i bought it. Next step for exterior is headlight, hood scoop, and a lift
