Plug and play/swap/upgrade thread

I looked for a singular thread about “plug and play”/swap/upgrades for 4th gens but couldn’t find one and figured I would make one for others looking for the same info that I am.

For example, my truck didn’t come with leather steering or volume controls and I was able to do an easy upgrade buy finding one with those options and it was plug and play.

Feel free to post your easy upgrades/mods/swaps ,Such as adding an upper glove box, radio upgrades, 5th gen parts that are compatible with 4th gens... etc...etc..

You can write your post here, share pictures or link to another post that already covers a specific upgrade/swap.

I installed the OEM trailer brake controller, that was pretty easy. Needed to be enabled in software but the install was quick and not too big a hassle.

Hmmm, lets see. I have a 2015 Express with hardly any options. So far I have added:

Cabin filter mod: 68052292AA (door) and 5058693AA (filter)
Under dash courtesy lights (non-LED): 68395784AA plug and play, just look for the 2-pin connectors
Under hood light: 68090861AA (wire harness) and 56021441AC (lamp assembly). Does not come with pushpin (6030441) to attach light to hood though. Plug and play.
Silver steering wheel bezel: 5NN22GFAAA
RA2 radio: 68226685AA - Buy a used one, they are like $600 normally. I paid just over $100 with shipping for a used one on Ebay.
Steering wheel radio controls: 1YH75DX9AC (back bezel with switch cutouts), 68163713AC (button harness), 56046099AD (left switch), 56046098AD (right switch). Plug and play.
Review mirror with mics for Uconnect: 68309359AB. You need the harness as well but I cannot find the part number at the moment. With the harness, its plug and play.
Uconnect switch on steering wheel: 56054449AA. You need the harness for the switches but it came on the used steering wheel I bought from Ebay.
Antenna hole plug: 56006990AB - I deleted my AM/FM antenna. And by deleted I mean I went to take it out and it fell onto the fender liner and I was too lazy to fish it out lol.

You can perform most upgrades pretty inexpensively if you find used parts. Some of the wiring harnesses I had to buy new because I couldn't find them used.
