Lockdown can get expensive. :D

Ordered a set of C-tube LED taillights on Amazon for $189 from "Akkon".
These came today from FedEx!

They're plug'n'play for non-LED trucks, those square boxes are the resistors.
Have to reuse your reverse bulb (which I already switched to LEDs)
I also swapped the OE clip-nuts for the Torx screws.
Pics show the C-tube slightly orange but it's red. No errors and bright!

Also did the UPR catch can but that's another thread. ;)

I assume if you have alpha you can just change the tail lights to LED and not use the resistors?

These are specifically for earlier Gen 4s with factory halogen tails.
They're not for factory LED trucks but they probably make them without the resistors for those trucks.

After I factored in the cost for OBDLink MX & AlfaOBD plus LED taillights just to be able to 'turn on' LEDs, this was a cheaper solution for me.

Yes I understand that but the only reason they give you resistors I believe is so you can trick you truck into thinking you still have halogen bulbs but with Alpha you should be able to update the computer to tell it you now have LED lights and then not use the resistors. I was just hoping someone could confirm that.

I understand how Alfa works but wouldn't know where to start clipping wires on new lights to not use the resistors, nor would I want to.
The resistors are built-in to the lights.
As I said, adding up the costs this was the cheaper alternative.
They work, I'm happy, and it was under $200.

Too bad my city has an 'enforced suggestion' to stay home between 8pm & 5am. (if out without good cause it's a $250 ticket)
I have to settle for backing up to store windows to see 'em!

Exactly what's on my box.
Sold under 'Akkon' but they're Spyder.
They came from Spyder in California.

Akkon headlights on Amazon for $300 look identical to the Anzo $550 ones and most likely are Spyder also. Tempting.....

Wow, big price difference for factory LED trucks!
$270 vs $190 for non-LED.
Glad I'm 'old school' 4th gen. ;)
