Sorry if its been posted before but I'm curious what everyone is getting for an unloaded 5.7L MPG. Please give year, cab, bed, mods, gear ratio and octane info too.

Me=2015 RCSB: K&N drop in filter, tri-fold bed cover, factory 20" chrome clads, 3.21 gears on 87 octane.

15 mpg when I do math, 18.5 on the dash.

'14 CCSB, 5.7, 3.21 gears, 87 octane, drop in air filter, tonno pro cover

~ 11.5 MPG city per EVIC, most of my driving
~ 23.5 MGP hwy per EVIC, this past weekend from Dallas to Austin

Overall I average ~ 13-15 MPG on 87 octane unloaded calculated. With a 18', 3.5K travel trailer we get about 10.5-11 MPG calculated

It's a truck, so I don't consider this 'poor' mileage at all, in fact better than I expected.

I was hoping to at least be at the low end of the factory rated 18-23 mpg statements. I expected to get more MPG than my father's 03 CC 5 spd auto with 100k miles on it.

I very much appreciate you taking the time to put up your numbers.

2012 CCSB, 20" rims, 5.7, 3.55 gears, 87 octane, S&B CAI, Tonno Pro tri-fold, 32 gal tank.
Hand calculated 19.5 MPG strictly highway at 65 mph and below. 15.5 MPG at 70 mph.
12.8 MPG mixed city/highway--this is about what I experience week in and week out with mixed driving.

Fuel Economy

According to that, there aren't any 2015 Hemi Rams that are rated for 18-23.

I do most of my driving around the Chicago suburbs, and I typically get 17-18mpg. CCSB 4x4 3.92 axle. And my EVIC is consistently accurate +- 0.2mpg. My average will be closer to 15.8-16.2 if I'm driving consistently aggressive / rush hour traffic.

Worst I've gotten over a tank so far was 14.2. Best I've gotten was 24.0. (24mpg on the calculator and EVIC after a 200 mile 95% highway drive at 60-65mph)

If you idle a lot, that will KILL your mileage. MDS isn't/cant be active at idle. So there's all 8 cylinders eating gas and not taking you anywhere. I always shut my truck off if I'm waiting for a train to pass, or if I pull up at a friends place to pick them up (unless they're already waiting outside, of course) ect..

Use cruise control as much as you can under most circumstances. Driving up and down the (small) hills around my area, I do not use cruise control. I hold the throttle at a reasonable % and let the truck bleed off some speed on the way up, because I'll get the speed right back on the way down. This is debatable and not always practical when there's traffic behind you (don't be "that guy"). I'm sure that statement is a candidate to be debated to death if any of the "smart" people here feel inclined. But it's as simple as this: Low fuel usage up the hill, and Low fuel usage down the hill. Versus: High fuel usage up the hill, and low fuel usage down the hill.

Coast as much as you can - there's no point accelerating from 40 to 50mph just to stop at a red light 1/4 mile later for example, or waiting until you *have* to hit the brakes in order to stop at a red light.

Use these tips in this article;
Driving Tips to Save Gas - Save Gas This Summer

dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnn; avoiding E10-15!!! Lol, that should start some arguments in here! Was a hot topic for ignorant debates about fuel type this week. Using 89 *might* help your mileage too. :favorites13:

You wanted the gas mileage you were told from the sticker? Nah, they were just funning, that stuff doesn't exist.

As stated above, coasting helps a lot, this goes hand in hand with your style of driving. I average about 17.5 on the evic with 60hwy/40city. I maybe get on it a few times a week. QuadCab Laramie all factory 4x4, 8 spd. I do about 75-80 on the highway too.

Okay, sounds like my mpg is right on with everyone else's then. Thank you all for your input and advice. I will try to keep it under 75 on the highway. Maybe take the trifold off for a tank to see what happens.

I'm not sure where I got the 18-23 mpg rating. Dodge and the site GP4L listed calls it 15-22. So I'm gonna suck it up and see if I cant improve that.

Thanks again!

17-19 prior to lift. Best maybe 21-22.

12-13 after lift.

I drive light footed and coast whenever possible.

I'm that big slow truck on the road lol.

I haven't had mine long enough to really tell yet, but I'm working on it.

2014 CCSB, 5.7, 8 speed, 3.92, using 87 (trying 89 next tank). K&N drop in, direct fit flowmaster.

Right now EVIC says 15 5, that's 60/40 city/highway

2010 Ram 1500 5.7 4x4 on 89 octane with 3.92 gears and the 5 speed. I have a roll up cover and a muffler delete.

I get on average between 10-11 in the city calculated, 14 on highway doing about 85.

Yall are aware that the 5.7 is a high compression motor and the manufacturer recommends no less than 89 octane?

I envy all of you with the 8 speed. My 5 speed is pretty terrible
