Hey guys new to the truck world just bought a 2012 ram 1500 sport. Installed CAI SB and cut the muffler off and put a y pipe. Since I put the y pipe noted the throttle response hasnt been as good has Id like it to be. So my question is should I buy a chip and if so which ones are recommend and do they have maps for simple mods CAI and muffler deleted kit. Or should I take it to the shop for a custom tune only thing with the shop is they do not have a dyno so I take it they're going to be doing street runs which I'm not crazy about. Also I'm curious can you fit a throttle body on if you have a CAI if so what make BBK or so and what size. Thanks Guys

No chips should be used. Their "tunes" are a fixed program that adds fuel to make power but not much else.

Get a programmer, such as the DiabloSport InTune. They have several tunes loaded based on whether you want a mileage performer, a daily driver with more power or a higher level of performance, all based on what octane fuel you want to use.

Further there are numerous user defined options you or a program specialist can tweak to your liking, such as throttle response, shift points at WOT, etc...

Lastly, a professional tuner with a dyno using the Diablosport software can create a custom tune.

Any of the pre-programmed "canned" tunes that come with the programmer, any custom tunes you have made for you and your stock tune can be reloaded on the truck anytime you want to change tunes.

The Intune will store multiple tune files including your stock tune backup so if you need to go back to stock, it's a simple matter of plugging the programmer back in to the truck's OBDII port and pressing a few buttons.

Contact Matt at Moesperformance you can get a diablo sport trinity tuner with free Hemifever custom tune included... As well as a ported intake. I have s and b intake and trinity with tune along with American racing long tube headers and magnaflow catback #16869 exhaust. This is the way to go! Matt is excellent and is active member here and will hook you up.

Also nice looking truck! If you want setup for fast you could also do a rear drop down kit...many who run racing setup do this...or like myself you could lift level and go bigger more aggressive tires. Either way recommend the setup above.:roflsquared:

Go with Bilstein adjustable struts...best for leveling and ride quality and fairly inexpensive. I have mine set at 2.1 but you can go up to 2.8 max. Also look at upgrading upper control arms because ball joints started poopin on some. I went with zone upper control arms very stout and beefy, also grease able. I also did the 1.5" zone body lift for a nice stance. :naughty:

Just double check them with visuals like posted early by someone 2012'might not be affected as dodge switched part numbers. I just really like the Zones for the money strong and you'llnever have problems. Also is installed at the same time so once and done in my opinion. These are the Best for the money. Also Bilsteins are a great way to level for the money much better than stackable insert like the hellbent steal posted earlier. :)
