After long thought and reading multiple threads I decided to go with the Vararam. The conversations around which cold air is better versus look and function led me to the Vararam.
Of course I ordered from our friends down at Moe's and I also want to thank them for answering all my questions and their advice...I'll post pictures when its completed.

Very nice. I really want the Vararam after reading all the good things about it. Plus I really like how it looks.

Unfortunately in some of my reading I've also read it's not very good for climates where you'll see snow so now I'm not sure if it would be good for me out here in CO.

Not that I have one in my truck right now, but I never had an issue with rain or snow. For a fact, I drove the truck in 1 hurricane, 1 nor'easter, 3 blizzards with over 65mph winds. I never had to mop anything up.

I live in Massachusetts and after talking to the folks at Moe's and doing some more research the water/snow shouldn't be in issue as long as I'm not driving in 4 feet of snow or trying to drive through a river, lol...
It's the look and it's the look...yes I said it twice. It gives it the old school look with real world results.

Interesting. Makes me reconsider it a bit. We don't get a ton of snow out here but I was certainly worried about it after some of the things I had read.

I refuse to spend the money on any of these so called CAI's until someone runs an independent dyno test on them to show they do anything more than a standard drop in K&N filter in the factory CAI, which it actually is.
Is Ram a red headed step child or something? No one seems to do any independent tuning or testing on them to prove any of this stuff works.

Do a search for dyno numbers on the Vararam. We tested 2 on the dyno, and saw 16hp and 18hp. Another member on here from Canada tested it as well, and also saw 18hp by adding the Vararam.

We went a step further to test it at the track as well. Truck was a 2012 Crew Cab 2wd with only an 85MM throttle body (stock tuning). Stock intake, it ran 15.2 on back to back runs. Next we ran the K&N 63 series, and it ran 15.1. After that, we ran the S&B with oiled filter, and it ran 14.9. And the Vararam was last, and ran a 14.8. This was on a cool night in December, so temp was within 8* from the start of the night to the end, but humidity went up as the night went on.

Gains from the TB will depend on your other mods. Stock trucks gain 8-10hp from a ported TB where modified trucks are seeing 15-16hp from the same TB. The more mods you have, the more you will gain from the throttle body.

To me, it is what I want for my little monster. I love the look and although i don't run 1/4 miles the extra boost will be welcome. Once a tune is out, then I will get that. Again, this wasn't to start a debate on the effectiveness or lack there of but instead a member that is modding and loves the look of the Vararam versus all the others that run down the side and don't look anywhere near as aggressive as the Vararam...
