So at work it rained and the place is a mud hole. Forklift gets stuck frequently now. I used my truck to pull the forklift out once already and then it got stuck again but used another vehicle this time.

When it gets stuck again is it better to pull it out using the receiver hitch or the shackle hook things on my bumper?

Well my phone is being stupid and not uploading the picture. It's the hooks on the bumper where a d ring can be attached. Use those or the hitch?

Place the hitch pin through your reciver and atach your strap to that. The d rings on the reciver are ment for saftey chains and really aren't that thick I would worry about bending them on something as heavy as a forklift. Don't attach to a hitch ball there is potential for the hitch ball to brake off and become a projectile. If useing a chain throw a blanket over it in case it brakes.

Receiver hitch. Thats meant for pulling more weight than tow hooks. There should be some kind of pin in the back of the forklift to hook to. Throw a lanyard on it and use a shackle mount if you have one to hook the lanyard to your truck

That's what I used last time was the receiver hitch.

It depends on which way the forklift gets stuck as to what I can hook onto it with. If facing away from me, there's all sorts of stuff. If facing towards me, well, we just try our best. Just wasn't what was actually best for pulling a vehicle out.

Also these were what I meant. Took my phone long enough to do what I told it to do...

Those look stout but what are they rated for? That's the question.

I think 10k. Not too sure. Not too sure about pulling from the bumper as it's just bolted on, but then those mounts wouldn't be so popular if it couldn't handle the work.

Are they machined in from the back or just
welded on the face. Or welded on the front and back. Depending on the bolts used the hitch is only bolted but it bolted in with some good hardware. Just compare but you bring up a good consern can the bumper bolts handle the stress.. If you plan on pulling from there it might be a good idea to switch to grade 8 bolts.

Welded front and back. Slot cut and the plate is pushed about a half inch or so into the bumper and then welded front and back all the way around. Never noticed that the few times I've looked underneath it. Getting grade 8 bolts would be easy if I had to. Or even stronger if I wanted to.

I don't feel that they will come off, your weak point would then be the bumper bolts In my opnion. If they were just welded on the face they would make me nervous the way they did it will me really strong.

I'm sure it's been tested many times and determined that the setup works.

Hopefully the forklift won't get stuck again since we're fixing The Mudhole, but then again we said that last time... And the time before... Either way my truck stands at the ready if it happens again.

those D rings are really designed for a winch to be run out to a snatch block and back to the d ring but they should be more than stout for what you're doing
