I'm new to this site and I just ordered a 2015 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman 4x4 with at the options. I didn't leave much out. The engine is a 3.6 VVT with 8 spd. trans. 3:21 rear end. Quad cab and power rear window with defrost.
Just wondering what you think and if there's been any issue with this configuration.

Nice truck. I have very close to the same rig except I got he 3:55 gears. I think that might be a better ratio if you are planning to tow.:)

Consider what part of the country your in and weather you will be towing or hauling. If ether / or' in higher elevations or towing, would definitely consider going lower with the gear ratio.

If the transmission ratios are the same in the v6 transmission as what they are in the v8 transmissions, I'd be on the phone right now screaming 3.92s.

The guys that have the v6 seem to like them pretty well.

Nothing beats ordering a truck. You get exactly what you want. I've ordered 2 vehicles now, and I'll never go back to buying off the lot.

There is like a 2000lb (4600 to 6600 ish)difference in towing from the 3.21 to the 3.55 and not much is lost in fuel economy you will still pull 24-25 on the highway. If it's not to late I would try to change that other than that sounds like a dream! Congrats and we want pics once it's delivered!

Actually for the 2014 with 3.55 gears RAM claims 7250 pounds of towing for the CC Tradesman V6. Not sure if I want to try that though, given the truck weighs barely over 5000 pounds.

Street cred aside, the V6 is actually a much more high tech engine compared to the Hemi. 4 overhead camshafts vs 1 in the block, 4 valve/cyl vs 2, independent variable valve timing vs cam phasing. And you get the 8spd standard which is a upcharge on the Hemi. Unless the truck is used for towing/hauling a lot it's a pretty nice combination.
