Someone can certainly correct me if i'm wrong on this but I dont believe there is a quick fix to this. Im sure you could start changing internals and get the motor to rev down quicker with maybe a different cam? or something but even with a tune mine does the same thing. Hopefully others with custome tunes/other mods will chime in and shed some more light because I have always been somewhat curious myslef but just dismissed it because I didnt figure itd be easy to change.

Manufacturers started doing this so that because when you brought the RPM's up quickly and then shut the throttle quick it would load up on fuel and run rich or back fire either way back for engine/emissions. To combat the emissions with running rich they simply started closing the throttle slowly so it wouldn't snap shut.

Respectfully I believe it's the whole "drive by wire" concept. In the 2005 and previous trucks - the gas pedal pulled a cable that opened a throttle body. Then in 2006 or so - we now have a wire connected to a little motor - hence, as I understand it - "drive by wire". I'm with you man - I hate it. You pop the gas pedal down a couple inches and then the engine goes revving right past where your foot is. Hopefully they are going to catch some of that when a flash becomes available that addresses torque management.

^^^my old BMW did the same thing these new trucks do, and it was not a drive by wire. It was a cable.

The Hemi TB is electronic so I`m confused, but reving in park or N is a 4.2K Max RPM anyways. Mine kicks back down pretty good but its an Ol 3rd Gen Girl. interesting discussion anyways, don`t mind me.

I've noticed it in mine too, especially now that I have a Magnaflow muffler. I rarely rev it up in neutral though so it doesn't bother me too much.
