I am looking into getting new wheels for my '16 Ram. I don't have, nor want, fender flares. I am looking at wheels with a +12 to +20 offset (20x9 or 20x10). However, I found some wheels that I really love but they only come in 00 offset.

Am I correct in thinking that I will get a lot of rock chips and paint damage from having the wheels sticking out with the 00 offset? I do have wheel to wheel Mopar side steps, and I have heard that helps with the rocks. I also do not go off-roading.

Also keep in mind that I am freak when it come to keeping my truck clean. I wax/seal it with Collinite 845, and I wash it with the two bucket method once a week.

Thanks.

Mudflaps?
I have 17x8 - 0 offset with 285/70-17 tires and the mud flaps seem to help a bit.

If you clean it that much you'll be fine. I have -13 9 inch wide wheels and don't get rock chips. I also have sidesteps. When it rains it does fling more **** on the side but haven't noticed any chips. Get the wheels you like!

Mine stick out about 3" and I don't have any rock chips.

But as mentioned.....the worse part is the rain....you'll likely have black crap all up and down the sides.

I have 20x9s 0 offset with 12.5s and i haven't gotten any chips for the year ive had them. As said above rain and snow will make a mess up the side though.

Your truck looks amazing! Do you have a picture looking straight down the side of your truck so I can see how much tire is sticking out? And have you had any issues with having rocks flying up or anything? Thinking about pulling the trigger on these: dYwo4pX.png

Good wheel choice. Different. I like it.

Thanks, I just hope they last. I have seen pictures of aftermarket wheels (Fuel, Black Rhino, XD, etc) that look like **** after a couple years. Fading black paint, chrome wheels that have pitted, etc). Hopefully a coat of Collinite 845 on the wheels will help them last.

I had 0 offset wheels for 2 years. Never had problems. I had mud tires and I use my truck off road a ton!

I no longer have these wheels, but here is a reference of what 0 offset will look like..

this puzzles me. Those tires seem to stick out way too much for a 0 offset?

I agree. 0 offset should stick out about 3/4 of an inch. Those appear to be about 2-3" out.

I went with a 20x10 -24 and they stick out about 1.5" to 2". The only down side is like rzrman said, it gets super dirty after it rains. Other than that, no complaints so I think you will be fine with a 00 offset. Mind you I only got these rims a couple days ago but I'm not worried about rock chips.

pic of how much it sticks out with a 275/65 tire

+1 20x9 fuel . I do have fender flares but I hope this helps. My tire is a 275/65/20 so a 34.1x11
Decided to go with this tire size cuz it fits my stock setup! Not sure what you are gonna run but you don't have to modify the truck at all and it still looks badass IMO
