Right now Infinity kappa 1200w(500rms) subs are $99 on Amazon prime, like $100 less right now than normal price. I think infinity is coming out with new model so discounting these in half. I like good sound quality and lows, so thought these would sound good for both and excellent price, in future can wire to 1 ohm if I buy new amp(selectable impedance on the subs) . They need .9 cf airspace sealed by manufacturer specs. I should have 1cf now, so should be perfect airspace wise. My homeade by member here fiberglass box is not divided, is open for both 12s. Does dividing box help sound quality or does it sound pretty much the same? I never used a box in past with 2 subs, only divided. I read people say if you blow a sub, you can't tell like a box with seperate airspace. If I fill in box to give subs own airspace it won't be perfect, just a guess at size but both should be at or close to .9cf. My Amp is 1,000 watts rms @ 2 ohm, so will be right at the limit, I prefer a 100 or so over specs, but should be good.

Audibly you wont hear a difference if subs are in separate spaces or not. A divider will help structurally though. If you're concerned about a divider taking away valuable airspace, cut a few windows into your dividing wall. An enclosure can never be too rigid or air tight, you want to keep as much energy inside the enclosure as possible (sealed applications) especially with dual 12's and a lot of power. You can always add a simple structure post or beam between the subs as well to make the enclosure more rigid and structurally sound

1. Dividing in a complex enclosure like the Ram rear under seat is never identical airspace.
2. "If" one subwoofer in a single airspace(not divided) failed, expect the other one now performing alone in double the airspace(vent area as well if ported) to follow suit quickly.
3. In a sealed enclosure, the divider may provide another rigid structure in the entire enclosure to make it "seem" like it sounds better. When in fact, the enclosure was just not designed properly in the single chamber/dual driver example.
4. Audibly the average human ear will not be able to tell a difference in a side by side controlled comparison.
