Is there a muffler out there that is more performance based than sound based?
Im really happy with the lack of exhaust sound in the cab (SCSB) of my truck, but would love to free up a little of the exhaust. Ill be doing the Y-pipe mod at the same time. Any suggestions?
I installed a Corsa cat back system on my old Chevy years ago and was really pleased. All stainless steel mandrel bent stuff. And I cant remember any real increase of the interior volume. Outside the truck sounded great (especially when cramming the gas pedal) and I felt an increase in throttle responce and HPs. Thats really what im lookin for here. Just really nervous to ruin the comfort of my cab while driving. And I also dig the look of the stock exhaust tips, so I will probably stick to a simple muffler change/y-pipe change. Unless there is a good reason to do otherwise.
And could someone explain what the heck these resonators are?
What is their purpose?
Where are they located?
Do they affect the performance?
Do they affect the sound?
Sorry for the barage of questions.
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
