Raceland help!!!

So my buddy orders the same 3" cutout i installed on my truck 3 months ago.
he waits 1 month before receiving it, i got mine in a week.
SO today was the install, i wired up everything exactly the same way. Then after everything was run we mounted the black receiver box under the dash just like mine. We plugged in the cutout, then the white connector into the black box. The we cut the cig lighter off, and went strait to the battery. AS soon as i touched the connectors to the battery, an audible POP not click was heard from the the black box and it smelt burnt. I took off the cover and found this (picture)

i Wired every thing the same, when i did mine The first time i wired it the pos-neg was reversed and nothing happened (bolth wires are the same color) So i switched them and they it worked fine. There is a difference, My box has no buttons or lights. His box has a small black button and a red and green LED. Now no lights turn on on the box, And as soon as i touch to the battery it draws current and tries to open the cutout.

I called raceland they want a picture to process through the warranty dept. He gets deployed in 3 days and now i feel like a **** cause i feel like i messed something up. On top of that he waits a month for a cutout and if we dont get one soonn he waits 4 more months................FAIL

wow, i hope the warranty covers that for you..... but as far as the wait goes, i think it's because they've been on backorder. pretty popular item

dude you do the blue and black wire to power? and then the pure black one to a ground???

i wouldnt recommend grounding it to the battery though

well, cant say enough about raceland, my new reciver is on its way. How ever i asked in my email and they do not recommend wiring directly to the battery. He says it will sent to much power and burn stuff up. Mine has been that way and i never had a problem, and that was 3 months ago.
