Hey all,

First time poster long time lurker.
On my 2015 ram with 300 miles, when i turned it on today the radio just showed a black screen and the camera showed a blue screen. Drove for a little bit and turned the truck off and back on and it worked normal. Any ideas as to what the issue might be? Should i be concerned? This is the only time it has happened. Its a uconnect 5.0

Thanks in advance

I would agree that thankfully we are within the warranty coverage, but the dealership is saying they can't pull a code, so they can't replace it!

I got my 2015 Ram about 6 weeks ago, it had 187 miles on it when I bought it.

I've already taken it in once and they updated the system because of a recall.

I've taken the truck back twice more for the same issue, the radio is stuck. Nothing will happen. It won't change channels, the back-up camera won't work, and the tow/haul button will not engage.

I took the truck to the dealership when it was not working, had the service writer get in the truck and see nothing was working.

I was then told nothing could be done because the computer isn't giving them a code.

WTF!?!?

So your telling me that even when you SEE the issue with your own eyes, you can't fix it????

Your service writer is retarded. Contact the service manager and see if the retardation goes up the food chain.

Defect condition has been verified, they should be replacing it. If not, find another dealer or contact FCA customer service.

Try calling Sirius XM to get a refreshing signal sent to your radio . My truck came with the RA1 Nontouchscreen radio , I've upgraded to the RA2 5.0 , mine did this like a month ago , I called Sirius XM the walked me through a refresh , everything worked out great for me !
Hope this helps !

i guess i should update.

The problem went away on its own, let your radio COMPLETELY turn on before going into reverse, changing volume, etc. Thats pretty much what fixed ti for me. Its good practice anyway.
I ended up changing my Headunit eventually and got sucked into the world of car audio.

i have a 2015 ram 1500 bighorn with a 8.4 radio with uconnect and cd player. i tried to connect my mp3 player to the usb connection in the center console and the radio shows that it isn't connected. But it will still charge the mp3 player. How do I get the radio in the truck to recognize the mp3 player to play the music?

In my experience to use the RAM USB hub, the device has to have the ability to be recognized as a USB storage and the media files need to be in a FAT32 file format.

At times, at least for me, USB will charge the phone/mp3 but play through the Bluetooth mode. If you have Bluetooth on your mp3 player I'd switch over to that and see if it's playing. It drove me crazy when I couldn't figure out what was going on at first. If you don't have Bluetooth on your mp3 player it could be possible the system doesn't recognize that type of player. My Jeep is the 8.4 with the CD player, but in my Ram without the CD player if I use the USB it will say something about learning what's on the MP3 player. In the Ram it also plays on the Bluetooth mode instead of in USB. Hopefully that helps.

the mp3 player does not have bluetooth and when i first connected it to 2014 it took a few minutes to read all the music file off the mp3 player but when it was done you could do everything from the radio instead of the mp3 player.
