I am having a issue with my radio/backup camera just shutting down on my 2018 Ram 2500 Tradesman. I have checked all the fuses and wiring, has anyone else had this issue?

My '17 back up camera has gone all green twice on me now in the past couple months. It will come back after putting the truck in drive and then putting it back in reverse.

My '16 back up camera has went green or all static several times, seemed to be getting worse lately, as in every time I opened the tailgate it was hit or miss if backup camera would work. Last week I opened up the tailgate access panel, sprayed the connectors with electrical contact cleaner, been fine since.

I was having the same intermittent issue with mine as well last year. Mine is a 2016.. Did a search here and got the feeling that a loose connection was somewhat common. I opened up the tailgate access panel and took the assembly out. Unplugged the camera and sprayed it with electrical cleaner as mentioned above. I then applied some die-electric grease to the "male" connector body and seal, plugged it back together and made sure it was mated well. I then wrapped the connection with 3M electric tape, leaving a pig tail so I could unwrap it easily if needed in the future.

Absolutely no camera issue since.

I had this issue after installing LED reverse light bulbs. I ended up taking out those bulbs and I've been good ever since.

Do you remember if the camera plug just pulls off or is there a lock on it? My camera was doing the same thing, I pulled the inspection plate off and jiggled the connector. The camera works again now, but I did not want to force the plug. If it happens again I want to do the contact cleaner and the dielectric grease.

Thanks

Sorry, just saw this. The plug is round with a simple tension clip. Not real strong and easy to unplug. Probably why there are so many reports of issues.. The video feed cable should lock in tighter.
