With my new RAM Power Wagon, I did not get rain sensing wipers. I have gone to the dealership and asked if I could have it installed. They never looked at my truck and did not look up my truck in their system. They told me it would cost thousands to have it installed. I have almost every other option on my truck, I just wonder if this is not a something that can be programmed in for a nominal fee. Has anyone ever tried to get this feature on their truck after purchase?

It was nice it could be added, but I agree I think I could live without it also.

The auto high beams are a spectacular addition and much easier and cheaper than the auto wipers.

My auto highbeams were okay for the most part but that was before I got my Vanquish Auto LED highbeams and HID lowbeams. Being that my lights are so much brighter now, the reflections off road signs, especially speed limit signs makes the camera or sensor, or whatever it is think there’s an oncoming car and it dims them for no reason. I just turned them off.

I’m not crazy about my auto wipers either. Well, I take that back, there is one time when I like them; I like them in the summer time when I’m at the car wash, washing all the hundreds of insect carcasses off my windshield. Soon as the spray hits the glass, it turns the wipers on so I don’t have to do it. Then it turns them off. Lol.

Other than that, I don’t use them. But it is nice that you can turn them off completely without having to go deep into the Uconnect settings.

I would give you mine if I could, I never use it. Turning the wipers on and off make me feel useful, like the truck still needs me.
Lol!

I use Rain-X. Don't even need wipers if you're going 30+

That Rain-X product is good but just in case, might wanna do a search on here about using that Rain X washer fluid. I’ve seen a few posts about that stuff clogging up the sprayer nozzles and gumming up the sensor in the tank that tells you when you’re low on fluid.

I don't know if I remember hearing that or not. I don't use Rain-X washer fluid, but it makes sense that it could clog things up because it bonds to the windshield in order to work.
I'd also suggest not to use Rain-X on side/rear windows either. It doesn't wear off like on the windshield. Once I went to clean my side windows and I kept getting a 'greasy smear'. Didn't matter what product I used, I couldn't clean the smear off. After many bad words, I finally figured out it was the Rain-X that I applied a week earlier causing it not to clean off. It eventually wore off, but I'll not use it on the side windows or mirrors again.

Had ‚em on a Volvo cross-country a long time ago. Hated ‚em.

Dealer said there was no way to turn the feature off. Just went on my LONG list of „issues“ with that car (vapor lock, dead batteries, computer never sent „codes“) and I‘ve never regretted getting rid of it or losing a boatload of money in the process.

Automatic wipers? They used to be on every street corner in large cities, I don‘t miss them either.

I don’t use the washer fluid either. I don’t think it works nearly as well that way. I have used the bottle and the wipes before and had success with both.
