I have a RAM 2500 2918 with UConnect 8.4 without the nav package. Can I get an upgrade tot his to add Nav ?

The navigation works through your cell phone with Android or apple auto download the app. Plug your phone into the truck using the right USB in console and the screen will change to an article where the phone icon was and **** you have navigation.

If your radio supports Android Auto/Car Play then you have a UAS radio and the answer is no. You would need to swap it for a UAQ that does have NAV built in.
Prior version of the 8.4 radio that do not support Android Auto/Car Play were software upgradable.

Using Google Maps(or the map app of your choice) is a lot better than the built in factory nav of the 8.4 radios. Unless you just like having the map on display while you drive.

I believe, for the low cost of around $700, you can take your truck to the dealership and they can reprovision your radio with nav, but call first to make sure.

Not 100% certain on this, but from all the stuff I've been able to read the GPS is right in the UConnect unit itself, so if you don't have the UConnect with Nav, then you're likely SOL. The advise here is good though if you have data on your phone. Connect your phone and use the GPS from that and the Map program of your choice

That's only for the RA3 radios, you can't do that with the newer radios that have Carplay on them.... with those you either have it or you don't. OP, Use Carplay (if you have it) and use the navigation from your phone as others have said, it's way better.
