Hello - new guy here.

With my 2013 2500, 5.7 L, sometimes when I start the truck, it “shuts” off about 1 or 2 seconds later. In other words, she will start, but after 2 seconds of idling, the engine cuts out and stops. An additional turn of the key does not spin the starter motor.

If I remove the key and begin over, it starts, and runs fine.

No error codes on dash, no weird noises or weird electrical problems.

I did a scan with my Foxwell scanner, using the Dodge-specific module.

Two errors were returned:

1. Tire pressure sensor cannot be found and
2. Door Module- Internal, Missing Calibration

Could the above codes/systems cause what I described?

I thought the scanner would pickup codes or times tamps or whatever pertaining to the engine cut off.

Any help/experience/point in right direction would be helpful.

Thanks very much in advance.

Mike

As in dead not even a click? No codes that would be protective codes.

Sounds like ignition or relay. You have a TIPM, you can bypass the ignition which would verify that is the issue and give you a second way to start the truck. If it didnt work, then it wouldnt be ignition. Could be battery issue as well, if oem battery that would be possible if not likely. With win module even replacements can be issue, which is why I prefer bypass at least to keep er started.

I would try a new key they tend to fail after few yrs just replaced 2 of mine. Also wiggle the key see if your truck shuts off.
