Ram transmission

Ram 2500 6.4L Hemi toasted a transmission. Dealer says its on backorder. It's been 3 months now and still no word on transmission replacement. Anyone else in line for a new transmission and if so how long have you been waiting g and have you heard of any timeline for a replacement?

I'm surprised they haven't looked into having rebuilt. I guess they are just box swappers though?
You might be able to have an outside transmission company rebuild it and Ram cover the cost? Might be something to explore with them

That would be my avenue of choice, then you could upgrade the weak links.

Talk to the service manager and parts manager. Ask them to put the trans in a VOR status (Vehicle Off Road). This puts you at the top of the list from the supplier (I don't know if Chrysler makes the trans or Aisin or one of the other suppliers). If they don't fulfill the order within 30 days, it gets pulled off the assembly line. This was told to me by a regional parts manager for FCA when my truck sat for 7 months waiting on a steering rack.

RFE transmission weakness's and fixes. If they will give it to you, try and ascertain what happened to this transmission so you can possibly address this weakness in your new transmission that will likely be an oem and not have the valve body upgrades such as a plate upgrade. Help the transmission shift with your pedal when towing, ease up on shift points. syn filter options rfe, oem filter canister are attached with plastic screw, get that garbage off your truck and get a metal thread upgrade with a synthetic filter. Mopar sump filters, the funny looking one are perfect, just get mopar, the after market dont have proper construction.

What ended up happening with your truck? Did you finally get a transmission? I’m curious because Ive currently been waiting 12 weeks (still waiting) for a warranty swap on my 2018 Ram 2500 6.4.
