Rattling Sun Roof

I bought a 2025 1500 Rebel X last month and there is a bad rattle in the sunroof frame just behind The driver seat. I had it to the dealer and they said they found some loose sun roof frame bolts and tightened them. It didn’t fix it and sounds to me like a coated hard plastic cable bouncing in the sunroof frame on every bump. I’ve taken the headliner down to pinpoint this. Has anyone else had this issue and got a successful fix?

I had/have the same issue with a 2025 Rebel X as well. I brought it in for the rattle on the rear drivers side and they said a support was touching somewhere and rattling. They said they dropped the liner a bit and bent the support and that stopped the rattle. A month later the same rattle started in the rear passenger side. The dealership doesn’t really want to deal with it but it is driving me absolutely crazy. The sound is the same as yours, sounds kind of like a cable, or metal on metal, or glass on metal, I’m not sure. My kids hate riding in the back on trips because it rattles incessantly. Oddly, it seems like when I take it to the dealer it doesn’t seem to rattle as much. I also have videos of it, but they don’t seem to want to see them (I thought it would be helpful for them to hear the sound I am complaining about). The dealer also broke some parts when they dropped the liner, so be careful to check everything if they do that for you.

I also have some rattles in the suspension or brakes when I go over bumps (not the standard thumps but more like I higher pitched rattle) and my engine started pinging a little bit under load, even on premium and non-ethanol premium.

Luckily, my dealership found a crack in the sunroof frame along with screws that are about to fall out that was causing the issue. Since I got it back it is completely silent after they replaced it. Only thing I am dealing with now is that RAM customer care pre approved me for $60 a day rental vehicle cost and when I submitted the claim they are only willing to pay about half what they promised so I’m dealing with legal issue with them.

I’ve heard that rental reimbursement is a bit of a nightmare, sorry you have to deal with that and the other issues with your new rig.

Three months later they have it in body shop again and advise it will take several days to repair. They will not give a concise answer about the problem. Is your repair permanent?

WHY when I got my truck, no friggin sun/moon/globe wateva roof. 1st they all leak eventually and getting repaired a monster PITA. If I need that much sunshine/moon beams, I'll stick my beak out the drivers window (hee hee) (sic).
