Looking good!

They ended up being really rough but hey they are sitting under a grill so for first attempt I think its not bad. On picked up some acrylic to see how well that cuts compared to PVC.

Acrylic is hard to cut and it's messy (I used it to make the baffle for my mids in the pods). But if you use a router or drimmel it works ok.
I would try one of those plastic cutting boards for your application...

Yeah I hear you I just hate walking into walmart lol. I do have both to do cutting with, the PVC was cut with the dremel and I will try the router with the acrylic.

That's awesome!!! Looks great!
I have switched my focus to a budget friendly DIY home theater as well.
Moved into a new house this last May with an unfinished basement, and Iam piecing together a simple 5.2 set up based around an older Yamaha RX-V663 receiver & Optoma projector. Trying to get everything up and going for football season so I'm not hogging the main TV upstairs (my wife is not the biggest sports fan lol)
Trying to avoid another rabbit hole too!

Man this is the second ht sub stage I've built using this diver and man for $170 bucks you can't beat it. Then pair it with a Crown XLS1000 that is on sale of $150 bucks. Damn you can't buy a sub stage that cheap and with that kind of performance. Also check out diysoundgroup.com Erich is a great guy to deal with. He had a shipping issue with my enclosure and since it took so long he threw in the spiked feet and binding posts for free.

I used automotive filler/primer as we all know MDF soaks up paint like water and then a can of Flat black finial touch paint that my wife had stashed away.

What are some of the better DIY HT websites you like to gather info from?
AND...what are some good online stores to get gear on the cheap? Receivers, amps, subs, towers, cables etc....?
I know the basics, but I am really getting into this HT stuff and it's fun!!!
I have a basic 5.2 system (no amps) (no processors) atm.. but I'd like that to change....
explaining purchases for a home theater set up is easier to explain to the wife (which she can enjoy) versus purchasing $1000 tweeters for my truck haha!
Thanks!

I was starting to stockpile goodies for a HT when I get a new home in a couple years.... Until the truck mishap, so now funds are going back to the new ride.

Accessories 4 less Is a great start for receivers and refurb items. Got my denon x3100 from there. Got it for the 7.2 ch preouts so down the line I can add amps galore.

As far as info, I frequent avsforums, audioholics, bluray forum is decent and diyaudio ( which is way over my head 80% of the time). Avs forum I find is the best as far as finding info/reviews on particular pieces of equipment and finding help being there are so many people over there.

Diy sound group is a good place to source hi-fi, nicely priced speakers. I.E....The illusive 1099... I will own a few of these eventually.

Monoprice and bluejean cable for wires etc.

I used to frequent hometheatershack back when I was hooked on HT. Might want to check that out. There are tons of DIYers on there.
