I had my rear camera flicker on and off today. Happened once and thats it but I read online that people were having to disconnect and reconnect their wiring harness. One behind the plate on the tailgate, one behind the license plate and one under the truck. Anyone have experience with this?

Just curious, thanks in advance.

I would try unplugging the harness that goes to the tailgate and check to make sure inside the connection is clean and dry.

On my truck, if I close my tailgate and the BedRug pushes on the connection, sometimes it causes connection to be lost with the camera. Havent dug into it yet to see if its broken wire or loose pins but moving the BedRug out of the joint between tailgate and bed seems to fix the problem.

I had it happen once. I applied a little dielectric (silicone) grease when reconnecting, hasn't happened since. I use dielectric grease on all connections that are subject to moisture, even trailer connectors.

What manufacturer would you recommend for the grease? I have never used it but I may begin to.

Thanks!

If it is under the hood, under the truck in the doors basically any connector you can see and get to disconnect, inspect, apply dielectric grease and reconnect it.

Oh, forgot to mention, behind the left front wheel well liner on the cab mount is a 54 pin connector that ALL the wiring for the rear of the truck runs through.
