On our first camping trip of the year, first ever with our trailer, we were told to park across the front of the trailer, partway into the lane. Evil Knievel Jr. was ripping up & down the lane on his BMX when we heard a metallic "Twaaaaaang!". Running over, we found a helmet-less 8 year old tangled up in his bike behind the truck.
Going against every instinct in my body, I asked if he was OK before looking at the truck. He said "yeah" and peddled off, presumably before he could get in trouble.
We checked the bumper and FFFUUUKKKKK he dented the metal bumper, f'd up a trim ring for a parking sensor and gouged the paint. Goodbye DS Trinity funds.
She got dropped off for surgery last night, hopefully ready for end of the week.
Interestingly while we were getting our quote, the guy noticed our driv/pass gap between the rear fender and bumper was uneven. He asked where we got it fixed. I told him we bought it new and had not been in an accident, so he asked if we got a discount because of the dealer's boo-boo. Huh?
He explained dealers often just spray mostly cosmetic damage caused by rubbing during transport/shipping. He is going to throw a chain on it and pull so the gap is even before pulling the dent & respraying.
Fingers crossed for best results!
