Trying to avoiding running a single wire back up to the battery. Are there any existing grounding locations in the rear of the truck? Either a stud/bolt on the frame or somewhere else like behind the tail lights? I don't easily see anything but curious if I'm missing it. Trying to avoid drilling a new hole into the frame.

Would a body panel behind the taillight work for a low power LED like KC Cyclones? They are 5W 0.42 amps per light and wiring two of them up. his is for a third brake light for a topper. I would just drill hole, sand to bare metal and add a bolt. Thanks!

Just a simple, clean and tight bolt to any bare body / frame metal near the 3rd brake will work. Just coat it with grease or something to prevent corrosion.
