Hello everyone
Hoping someone can help me in regards to if the 05 power wagon had a factory rear sway bar?
We lost our 29 year old son in September in a quad accident and this power wagon was his pride and joy, that will now be passed on to his 17 year old brother. He had removed the front sway bar as he was having the typical sway bar problems, water intrusion and electrical problems, i was able to fix the smart bar, but in the box of the truck was what I assumed was a rear sway bar and some u bolts and a bracket for each side. But I can see nowhere this bar connects. Dodge here says they have no info indicating a rear bar, but moog does show 2 different rear sway bar end links for an 05 pw
Any info would be helpful thx

Sorry for the loss of your son. Can't imagine what that's like.

I'm not sure this reply will help but. My 03 Dodge 1500/ 5.7 Quad Cab 2WD did not have a rear sway bar either,..which still amazes me. So I went looking. There was no real provision for installing an OEM one either. I scored a complete Hotchkis front and rear kit off E-bay for a big savings..and during some body work which included new box sides I drilled the required holes to mount the rear sway bar attachment points. These holes would locate the "L" brackets onto which the end-links would bolt and hang down to connect to t he ends of the sway bar. One hole per side on the chassis was required, that's all. Attached picture shows the approximate location where I had to drill the hole/s. Hotchkis instructions provide the exact location and hole size. I remember buying the correct (read: large size) drill bit to put the holes in. Great mod by the way. Also..the picture does not show the holes drilled...that big hole is a factory opening as I recall.

Thx for the replies
I am starting to believe maybe this truck wasn’t equipped with the sway bar either, just a buddy of his said he had to cut something to get the bar out and the smart bar was intact when I rebuilt it
Would just like to put it back if it belongs, it will be a first vehicle for the younger brother

Sorry to hear about your son.

His truck did not have a rear sway bar. I’m guessing that the swaybar and parts in the back of the truck were an unfinished project to replace his faulty smart bar.
