Does anyone know if there is a company that makes replacement seals for a power slider rear window in a 2006 Ram 1500. The current issue is water accumulation under the passenger side rear seat after it rains. The water runs in around the bottom of the seal and down the jute behind the seat and into the storage compartment. Any help with seal knowledge on this would be greatly appriciated.

Not to deter future posts from other members but it is not the third brake light. When the issue first occurred that was my first thought so I used a mister and sprayed the light and it didn't leak so for good measure I siliconed it anyway. After that I looked to the window which is where the leak is. If I spray water on the bottom section of the window it runs along the bottom seal into the track then down the jute. I've already siliconed the bottom seal corners once before and used pb blaster to moisten the seal but this was only a temporary fix. I am wondering if someone makes seals for these windows to try and replace them seeing as the silicone only lasts about six months.

sorry man was only trying to help

I know thanks for the idea, that really seems to be the issue with the leaks in these trucks but I seem to have gotten lucky with getting a special one that's a pain in the ass. Yeah I was just saying that so anybody will throw their ideas in on how to seal the window up. The more help and ideas I can get the better.

The big body shop around here is into insurance work and if it's not they don't give a sh*t. Thanks for the idea though. I would think about getting it fixed if they would care.

I had this same issue (NOT the 3rd brake light, the slider) on my '00 Ram.
No one I found (have friends in the glass business even) could get me a new seal. New window, or deal with the leak.

For $400+ I dealt with the leak. (It doesn't rain much in New Mexico)

I looked at it and it looks like the only way to try to get it out is to take the stops off the wire, I might want to give it a try. It leaks on the seal against the window so I might be able to slide the window far enough back to put silicone on the back of the seal but I don't know if those clips are salvageable.

I'm up here in PA where we get rain, snow and anything in between. I really don't want to have to buy a replacement hand slider but if it comes to that I might have to. After this experience I refuse to buy another power slider. I really don't want to deal with it because its bad enough that I almost need to install a sump pump under the back seat.

Yikes. Can you put electrical tape around the outside for now (You can buy 2" wide black tape) It'll at least look decent, and seal it temporarily.

I'm attempting RTV ultra black a second time because I still want use of the window so I'm trying to silicone inside and outside.

The stops are made into the track and you can't buy replacements so i'm probably not going to try that.

Thanks for all of your help. After sealing the corners around the slider, the leak in that area stopped. The water inside the cab still persisted so With a little more testing (a.k.a. let it rain like it tends to do in PA) the seal itself aound the outside of the window that seals it to the cab it the issue. It is taking on water about half way down the window on the passenger side which allows a constant stream of flow. I will be sealing the whole way around the window to fix the problem. PS I also did get bored enough to check the third brake light which was sadly still dry.:)

Sorry to bring this thread back to life but I wanted to see if the RTV unltra black solved the leaking problem you had and where exactly you put the RTV. I have the same problem and will be purchasing some of this soon to fix the pool that has been created in my rear storage compartment.

Yep, mine does the same thing in both corners of the back window and also in the center where the sliding window opens. Pain in the ass I tell ya. And do you think anyone is able to fix it? Nope. They all tell me to replace the window. Kind of makes me wonder...with all these seal problems, if my truck had a sunroof, would it leak too?? I guess I should be happy I don't have a sunroof!

I am just going to try and seal up the entire window with RTV and see if that helps any. if not, ill just take out the window entirely and replace it with a fixed rear window. The slider is nice but not worth my truck smelling musty and humid when I get in it. Anyone know the best place to get a fixed rear window and how much it would run?
