I'm considering adding remote start to my truck. Probably looking to go aftermarket with cellular interface to increase range. I've read that some trucks have options to set climate controls when using remote start. Is that possible with an aftermarket unit? My truck has manual climate control, but I have also been looking at going to single zone ATC since I already have the 7 speed fan and 8.4 radio. Any input is appreciated!

Adding the Single zone ATC is simple enough. Contact @Mpgrimm2 with M² Mods for the wiring harnesses to add the humidity and temperature sensors. You can order the sensors from @AllMoparParts.com (55111178AC temperature, 55111389AF humidity) https://www.ramforum.com/threads/ho...to-a-manual-temperature-control-truck.103456/
Then you can enable it with AlfaOBD, see the first post: https://www.ramforum.com/threads/alfaobd.123982/

Being that you'll be using an aftermarket remote start, the climate control will work if the Aux circuits that run the HVAC stuff is energized when the truck is started.

Do you know if the climate control would self adjust based on the outside temp? Meaning if it was cold outside would I get heat and/or defrost or would it be what I left it set at? I've read where some trucks turn on heated seats/steering wheel and set the temp to heat when below 40 outside.

If you have ATC it will Heat or Cool as needed, I'm not sure if the defrost kicks on automatically. The HVAC will resume to where you left it when the truck was shut off ATC or not.
I not sure if the Auto-On of the Heated seats/steering wheel will work with an aftermarket remote start. I know there's a menu in the radio which you can select whether it happens with remote, all starts or not at all. It should still work if all starts is selected. This only happens if the radio is reporting below 40°F

Thanks for the input...I think the range and convenience of the cellular outweigh the climate features for me. I'll start looking around for what to purchase...might still do the ATC a little later.

They have a sale going on for Rams.
https://www.12volt.solutions/
I’ll counter the 12volt solutions kit with this one- https://www.ebay.com/itm/FlashLogic...736354&hash=item2620a3aadb:g:PRUAAOSwwERZ0DKI
12v wants too much for what it is, and requires you to send it back for second stage programming. Also funny how they say they’re the only 100% plug n play kit when I can rattle off at least a dozen. Anyway, the flashlogic kit is the same thing as 12v’s, 100% plug n play, uses the factory remote, AND comes with the adapter cable so you can program it completely yourself. It’s also compatible with this drone mobile add on so you can start from anywhere with your phone- https://www.ebay.com/p/27028671635?...MIj_n2pvWu5QIVL__jBx0JigfzEAUYAiABEgIU5PD_BwE
For the temp controls, everything will still work as it would if you had the factory remote start.

I'll probably go with the kit like Jimmy07 linked. I've used Flashlogic stuff in the past and had pretty good service from their stuff.

Has it been 100% confirmed that drone works with flashlogic? I have the flash logic currently and want to add the drone service. From what I can tell (could be wrong) but the flashlogic and compustar units are all the same. Maybe firmware varies. Not sure. But all my googling has failed me so far.

Yes, I use it. They’re all the same- iDatastart, flashlogic, compustar, etc.
Although, now I would recommend the Car Link- https://www.amazon.com/Audiovox-ASC...ocphy=9021600&hvtargid=pla-638141796638&psc=1
The first year is free, and renewal is $40/year. I think I paid $70 for this past year for drone.

Carlink seems like a better deal. I'll be going that route. Thank you.
