I live Va Beach/Norfolk - I’ve got all the standard automotive shops around here. Does anyone have any recommendations on places to take my rotors (Power Slot) to get turned?
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure you can not turn slotted rotors. At least that is what I've read on these forums before

Not that I would turn rotors anyways these days but why not?Someone turned them when they were built.Unless there's not enough meat on them to cut.

They can be turned if within spec. I've done it. Best to find a mom & pop type shop. Some place's i have tried ( chain store's) want to sell you new, or don't want the liability. That said rotors are not too expensive ( type without bearing's).

Thanks all. I think there is still plenty of meat on them. Every time my truck has been in the shop, they do a curtesy brake check and mention the pads and rotors are still in good shape. They are just a little warped.

I've turned them before with no issues, the cutting tip moves slow enough and as long as you don't cut too deep off hand it'll be just fine

"They're just a little warped".

That is a very good indication of what they're gonna do after you make them thinner by cutting them. Same metal rotor, only thinner will warp again.

Rotors are made to be replaced with the pads now-a-days. I hate that too, but Spend the $$, get new rotors & pads. The amount of work is about the same.

EBC rotors and Yellow Stuff pads are affordable and provide an excellent upgrade to your stock equipment. I run 'em on everything now. Try 'em out, you won't be disappointed.

It's a brave, new world. Disposable. It mostly sucks for us old guys who remember cutting thick rotors. Sometimes twice! No more my friend. Rotors start out thin now. Thick = heavy = bad mpg.
