Hey everyone first post here hope this is in the right spot. I have a 2011 ram 1500 5.7, 145,000 miles. Having a few problems that I can not dial in. First problem is rough idle and rpms dropping down to under 500 when stopped and back up to normal operating. Other problem is when under acceleration have pretty bad RPM surging the rpms drop and come back up and continue that until I hit a consistent speed. No check engine light for misfire or anything. Thinking it could possibly be the 02 sensors or fuel injectors. Have replaced spark plugs, fuel pump, and throttle body. Just trying to get some kind of ideas of what the problem could be instead of going to a mechanic.

Vacuum leak? I’m having same problems but I found the intake manifold is leaking.. I tighten the bolts back down and still having the same issues. Or could be alternator. I’m having the gaskets changed out and also checking my alternator. Just installed new battery and starter, getting worse.

With a computer controlled vehicle it could be anything. Example, yesterday my son-in-law said his truck suddenly was jerking and wouldn't go up a hill, everything he said sounded like transmission issues. But i told him to go to a shop and check for codes, sure as hell it had some but not transmission, coil packs or spark plugs! $80 later he's back on the road and drives perfectly. Check for codes first before analyzing or asking opinions.

I'm having similar problems with my new/used 2010 1500 4x4. Sometimes when coming to a stop and engine idles down it gets eradic and stalls. A couple of times it could have been dangerous. Transmission seems to run rough around 1500-2000rpm in drive with occasions of what seems like trans slip. I really need to get this resolved on next 10 days.
