I keep seeing the larger Royal Purple 20-820 filter being recommended over the 10-48 one.

Any issue with the 10-48?

I just ordered 2x 20-820 on Amazon.ca (almost half the price of the 10-48), but still have one 10-48 in stock and want to make sure there's no problem with them.

I ran the 20-820 for the extra filter capacity. Both fit exactly the same.

ok good, it's just that I'm pretty sure I saw a post saying that there were issue with the 10-48. I'll try to find it.

Someone had an issue with a batch of 10-48's and looseness but most guys have good success with the 10-48.

I like the extra filter capacity of the 20 820. Fits perfectly

I run whatever synthetic media filter is on sale with the full syn oil for my changes. Filter choices include: Purolator Pure1 and BOSS (my favorite), K&N, Mobil 1 extended performance.... all at stock height. I cut my filters open at every change and cut the media out for inspection as well as inspect the oil filter casing and I get my oil tested at blackstone. Ive cut open just about every filter ever made and I don't see the need to ever really deviate from a quality synthetic media filter. Most of us don't push our oil to the brink and modern engines run very clean compared to older generations. If capacity gets you all excited feel free to get the larger case filter but its not needed. And unless your running super extended oil changes 10k+ your not really stressing modern synthetic oil or synthetic media filters these days.
