My 2011 Ram Sport is running hot and going through alot of water. Could this be a thermostat issue? Thanks

Have you checked for any leaks? Waterpump is a somewhat common issue to look into. But looking into any leaks would be a good start.

“water”… Im guessing you mean coolant.
Its either leaking or being consumed. Both are not normal.
1. Look for spots/puddles on pavement or splatter on underside of truck after a drive
2. Check your oil…does it look like chocolate milk?
3. Exhaust…Is it puking water or abnormal steam?
4. This one I defer to 6spd guys…trans fluid/coolant cross-pollenization?

I've never used it but there is a test kit to check your radiator fluid for broke gasket ectopic. Also have you checked oil for milkey color.

Could be a lot of things. Get yourself a cooling system pressure tester and you'll be able to see if the leak is internally or externally.

Look underneath the truck for any wetness. Esp the bottom radiator hose. If there's a trail of coolant coming down the lower radiator hose (leaking down from the engine above) there's a good chance the water pump is leaking (soon to fail). Any coolant on the engine is probably a leaking water pump (coolant pump). There's a weep hole on the underside of the pump where coolant will leak out if/when the seal fails. And they all fail at some point. Pumps are a wear item. If it turns out to be the water pump (coolant pump), don't put a replacement off. Eventually it's fail dramatically and could possibly lead to bigger engine problems.

Or, like others said: Leaky hoses, leaky radiator ...or even a leaky heater core. Possibly a failed head gasket too. If you look in the tailpipe and it looks super clean (not very sooty), that's a good telletale sign w/o just by walking by the truck.

If you aren't the DIY type, a good mechanic should be able to solve the mystery of the missing coolant.

BTW, This wins the "best thread title ever" award! lol :D
