Well I installed my intake today and took it for a little spin..

First impressions are that there is definitely a difference in throttle response and the overall performance..

Only gripe is that I really, really wish it was a bit louder under throttle..

Yeah thats how i feel too. I had a K&N in my 2007 and i could hear the CAI hiss. Can't really hear anything with this one.

I've got a 2014 Ram 1500 w/ the 5.7 Hemi. From what I've learned, there's isn't a significant increase in mpg, horsepower or anything unless driven at high rpm. In other words, the stock intake allows just as much airflow under normal driving & the intake air temp doesn't make much of a difference.
I'm not trying to argue, just trying to justify the expense. Thanks in advance for your input.

The cai and a whole isn't much of a stand alone mod, it works best when it is complimented with a tune and an exhaust.. So i wouldn't expect much of an increase from a secondary mod used by its self.. The only reason why I choose this first was because a tune is not available yet, and the exhaust is next on my list.

The install it's self is a very straight forward install and it took me about an hour.. Should have taken a little bit longer because as I am looking at my picture, I need to straighten out a hose other wise my ocd might take over, haha

I'm expecting minimal mpg gains, if any.. Colder air causes more power, which means more fuel will be burned.. But I'll update periodically..

It's just a damn shame that the intake isn't just a tab bit louder..

If you want to get a bit more noise out of the intake, you can always run it with the clear lid removed. Downside to this is that it will suck in some engine heat.

Now that actually sounds interesting.. I may try this to see what the difference is...

I can't imagine it taking in as much hot air as a k&n..

Just an FYI, for giggles.. I told the plexi glass off and ran to do som errands and hooooly hell does the intake sound mean.. I can't keep my foot off the skinny pedal..

If it was louder it wouldn't be a CAI, if you take the lid off what is the point of doing it at all.
