Matt at Moes Performance told me it isn't worth it to get the scoop. He said all the tests they've done done see enough gain from it.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. Matt will get the extra $100 on something else- sooner or later

I had a Volant before the Vararam and I paid the extra $150 for the scoop... I did hit a cat with the scoop once, but I don't know if you would call that "worth it". :roflsquared:

Btw, before PETA kicks my front door down, the cat was fine, I pulled over and checked. It just got bonked on the head by the scoop. Lucky cat!

The worst part was that this happened on Christmas Eve night! I wasn't as worried about the cat as I was about the kid who was gonna wake up Christmas morning to a dead cat, with a dR logo imprint on its forehead.

Yeah especially if the kid bought the cat a gift of cat treats or something! Lol

New to Forum, S&B for the W

Just wanted to say what's up. New to the forums from Florida. Glad to be a part of the Ram family. Recently purchased S&B intake and cannot find anything bad to say about it. Looks amazing compared to stock. Night and day difference, such a clean look. Performs and sounds great. If your on the fence just jump, well worth it. Now trying to decide either Trinity Tuner or TC upgrade next.

I wish I could give more info on the MPG portion of it but my trips are literally a mile to work so my truck actually idles more than its driven to get up to temp.

I posted a thread on here S&B CAI w/ ram air. With the set up I have now I get 16 mpg around town and I have seen 21 mpg on highway plus at cruising speed I have better throttle response.

Have you tried searching S&B or CAI - neither work. Plus, I'm just now learning this forum and Ram's in general so this is all new to me and I wouldn't know other terms to search (yet). Having inline pics is easier when talking about something new.

All right KahneFan, I'll take pity on those unfamiliar with the RF search function and post the link to my album for S&B CAI install. :buffer:

:burnout:

Thanks!

I'm trying to figure out 1) if a CAI is worth it, and 2) If so, which one - or just DIY as I've seen some do.

Worth it?
Some say yes
Some say no
You'll have to decide for yourself.

You can read these to get started: GIFO's 1 - 4

DODGE RAM FORUM - Dodge Truck Forums - Search Results

That is the link to a query I just did on 'Cold Air Intake': 500 hits going back just to June 2014.

You have to decide, most RF members either have a CAI, or do not--usually by choice.

500 results (threads) and probably 5000 posts. I could weed my way through 1) finding people posting about S&B specifically, and 2) find people who posted pictures of their S&B. Or, I could simply ask, in the S&B specific thread, if someone wouldn't mind sharing a picture. I'm not sure what I did wrong here, but I will be sure not to ask for sample pictures in the future since it appears to not be proper forum etiquette. Thank you Keg184 and Etroze86 for sharing pictures of your toys :waytogo:
